Dear CeCe,
Dear CeCe,
I am 70, and after nearly 24 years of a mostly incredible marriage I am widowed. Is this a community for someone like me?
Dear Is This a Community for Someone Like Me,
My heart goes out to you. After so many years of sharing your life and love, I can only imagine the grief and sorrow you might be feeling. Having suffered the loss of close loved ones personally, I know there are no words that I can say that would offer any real comfort. These words from a Willie Nelson song allowed me to let myself heal and made it okay to grieve; “It’s not something you get over, it’s just something you get through.” It will be hard, and some days will be better than others. Our hearts, my heart is with you as you go through the grieving process.
I am glad you found us amid your sorrow. This community is built for people who are once again single – people like you. Our postings are aimed at those going through a separation from someone they love or once loved. Our community is diverse. It includes people of all ages and situations. Some with kids and some completely on their own. Some of the content will be helpful for everyone. Some are more tailored to specific situations such as divorce or sharing childcare. The one common denominator is adjusting to being on your own again. Over half of our content is about creating a new life, taking care of yourself, including tending to your feelings, your needs and providing ideas around the new experience that being single brings.
I send you love and hope that you receive all the comfort and support that you need.
CeCe
